The Winter Solstice is a wonderful opportunity to honor our beloved Pachamama (Mother Earth) for her nurturing powers and this time of Nature’s period of rest in preparation for the awakening and rejuvenating period of Spring.

For us, this time offers the gift of slowing down from the rapid pace of life to which we have been accustomed, and offers opportunities to become more introspective and mindful of our place within this matrix of life.

The primary focus of this ceremony is to offer our gratitude for the many gifts we each have received during this year and to plant seeds of intentions for the upcoming year. As such, we will communally create and offer a Despacho, a traditional Andean ceremonial offering comprised of prayer-infused ingredients representing the animal, plant, mineral and human kingdoms, to be offered in reciprocity for the numerous gifts each of us have received during this year.

This ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2017 beginning at 2 pm at The Sanctuary at Mt. Shasta. Please RSVP with your intention to join with us by Sunday, December 10th. We will be hosting a pot-luck meal following our ceremony. Please indicate the dish that you plan to offer for pot-luck along with your rsvp.

With blessings,
Ray Nobriga and Valerie de Magdalena
